Carnival Cruise Line has opened bookings for its latest ship, the Carnival Tropicale, which is the final addition to its Excel class fleet. A celebration marking the milestone of the ship's construction was held at the MEYER WERFT shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, coinciding with the commencement of reservations.

The Carnival Tropicale is set to begin sailing in 2028 from Galveston, Texas. The ship will feature a proud display of the "Texas Star," symbolizing its connection to the Lone Star State. It will offer four, five, six, and eight-day itineraries to Carnival's private Paradise Collection destinations, including Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, Isla Tropicale, and Puerta Maya, as well as popular Caribbean ports like Progreso and Nassau.

Ben Clement, Executive Vice President of Maritime and New Builds at Carnival Cruise Line, expressed excitement over the booking announcement, stating, "Today is an exciting day for Carnival Tropicale, as guests can now begin planning their vacation on this extraordinary new ship." He emphasized the innovative entertainment options and dining experiences that will be available, along with memorable destinations throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico.

The ship will feature the Sunsation Point, a multi-level family entertainment area, which includes the Carnival WaterWorks Ultra water park with six waterslides. It will also offer various indoor and outdoor activities, including a redesigned Fairway 66 mini golf course, sports court, and a new gaming area known as The Vault Retrocade, which blends classic and modern games. After sunset, special nighttime events will continue to enhance the onboard experience.

Carnival Tropicale aims to introduce a new dining concept titled “The Next Course,” showcasing global cuisine. Guests can enjoy innovative dishes at Uku Lei Lei, which blends Asian flavors, and delights at Fetaccine, a combination of Greek and Italian cuisines. The onboard dining experience will also feature seafood inspired by the American coastline, developed in collaboration with Carnival's Chief Culinary Officer Emeril Lagasse.

As Carnival Cruise Line continues its growth trajectory, it plans to expand its fleet with five new ships by 2033, following the recent launch of its exclusive destination, Celebration Key, in the Bahamas, set to open in 2025. The company remains a leading player in the cruise industry, having welcomed over 600 million guests since its inception in 1972.
