Centrus and Antares Sign Multi-Year HALEU Supply Contract

September 17, 2026

Centrus Energy and Antares Nuclear have signed a multi-year contract for the supply of High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU), with deliveries set to begin before the end of the decade. This agreement is expected to bolster national security missions and adds to Centrus' backlog of customers.

Amir Vexler, President and CEO of Centrus, highlighted the growing demand for HALEU and emphasized the company’s readiness to meet this need. He stated, "Binding orders from Antares and others are supporting our expansion to commercial-scale production, which is now well underway. We look forward to supporting Antares' continued growth and success."

Jordan Bramble, CEO and Co-Founder of Antares, mentioned the importance of reliable fuel supply for advanced reactor developers. He noted that the contract secures a dependable U.S.-origin fuel source for Antares' microreactors, which are designed for critical missions on Earth and in space. Antares has also secured contracts with the U.S. Army and Air Force for its projects.

Centrus Energy is advancing HALEU production at its American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio, which is recognized as the only licensed HALEU production facility in the western world. The company has initiated a multi-billion-dollar expansion to enhance its capacity for producing HALEU and Low-Enriched Uranium (LEU).

This agreement underscores the roles both companies play in addressing U.S. national security needs. Centrus’ technology supports "unobligated" enrichment, making it suitable for various national security applications. The contract is positioned to contribute significantly to the operational capacities of both Centrus and Antares in the coming years.
