Tacta Systems™ Expands Global Manufacturing Footprint With New Singapore Facility

Tacta Systems has announced the opening of a new production facility in Woodlands, Singapore, as part of its expansion efforts to enhance its global manufacturing capabilities. The new facility will initially focus on the production of the Tacta Glove™, which is integral to the company’s Skill Capture system. This development comes as Tacta prepares to deploy its robotic technology across various industries, including electronics, AI infrastructure, and automotive, in early 2027.

The Tacta Glove is designed to be worn by skilled workers as they undertake real-world tasks, capturing vital data on force, motion, and temperature. This data is used in conjunction with video footage to train Tacta's robotic hands. By increasing the production capacity of the glove in Singapore, Tacta aims to enhance its ability to scale the deployment of Skill Capture systems as it begins customer engagements.

Vikram Pavate, co-founder and CEO of Tacta Systems, highlighted Singapore’s strong manufacturing expertise and engineering talent as key factors for the company's growth. He noted, "This facility gives us a strong base to grow from as we move toward customer deployments next year."

The expansion will also see Tacta collaborate with the A*STAR Institute of Microelectronics to scale production of tactile sensors fundamental to its technology. This partnership aims to enhance Tacta's manufacturing capabilities while reinforcing its presence in the region alongside customers and technology partners.

Support for Tacta’s expansion has been provided by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and EDBI, an investment arm of SG Growth Capital. Png Cheong Boon, Chairman of the EDB, commented on the significance of Tacta's operations in Singapore, stating that it will advance industrial automation and create job opportunities for local residents.

As Tacta expands its operations globally, the Singapore facility is set to serve as a critical manufacturing and engineering hub, further enhancing the company’s capacity to support local customer deployments. Hiring is expected to increase in the fourth quarter across various roles as the operation grows.
