LeanTaaS Brings Ambient Intelligence to iQueue, Connecting the Care Environment with Healthcare Operations
LeanTaaS has announced the incorporation of ambient intelligence into its iQueue system, which aims to enhance patient care by capturing and interpreting signals from the care environment. The first application of this strategy, iQueue for Virtual Care, was introduced at the Transform Executive Summit, held in conjunction with Becker's CEO + CFO Roundtable.
This new functionality provides continuous awareness across enrolled patient rooms, enabling care teams to recognize changes in patient activity, identify potential safety concerns early, and coordinate appropriate responses. The system captures signals that traditional Electronic Health Records (EHR) and conventional systems may miss, thus redefining virtual care by extending awareness between patient-clinician encounters.
LeanTaaS has also acquired LookDeep Health to support this initiative, which brings computer vision monitoring technology evaluated in peer-reviewed research. The aim is to incorporate ambient intelligence into additional iQueue products and workflows for better capacity management, patient flow, and care coordination. Mohan Giridharadas, founder and CEO of LeanTaaS, emphasized the company's dedication to enhancing operational efficiency among health system partners.
iQueue for Virtual Care includes three key components: Virtual Observation, Virtual Nursing, and Virtual Medicine. These offerings are designed to enhance patient observation and nursing capacity, as well as provide remote consultations with physicians and specialists. Reported outcomes from existing implementations indicate significant reductions in fall rates and medication errors, along with cost savings compared to traditional virtual care solutions.
LeanTaaS aims to expand its ambient intelligence capabilities across more patient rooms by leveraging existing compatible cameras and in-room devices, thereby preserving current investments while introducing new functionalities. Narinder Singh, senior vice president of ambient intelligence at LeanTaaS, noted the importance of technology in providing real-time support for healthcare professionals, allowing them to focus more on patient care.
