STARTRADER CEO Peter Karsten Delivers 'AI Starter' Keynote at University of Adelaide
STARTRADER has taken an initial step in its commitment to youth education in artificial intelligence and future skills by delivering an online keynote at the University of Adelaide. CEO Peter Karsten presented foundational concepts in artificial intelligence to academic staff and students at the institution, which has over 56,000 enrolled students.
The session, titled 'AI Starter', was designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students across various disciplines, highlighting STARTRADER's belief that AI fluency is becoming increasingly essential in all professional fields, not solely within technology. This approach aligns with STARTRADER's client-first engagement philosophy in financial markets.
Mr. Karsten specifically tailored the presentation for a broad, non-technical audience. He discussed the role of AI in everyday life, the growing importance of AI literacy across different fields, and how young professionals can adapt to emerging technologies. This initiative reflects STARTRADER's focus on blending its industry position with investment in youth education, acknowledging the impact of AI on trading and market interactions.
“AI is no longer an area for specialists only. It’s a component that is bound to shape industries within the next couple of years,” Mr. Karsten stated. He emphasized the importance of equipping the younger generation with the skills to work with these technologies early in their careers. Derek Abbott, Professor and Laureate Fellow at the University of Adelaide, welcomed the opportunity to connect students with industry leaders who can provide insights on the technologies influencing their future careers.
Additional sessions are in the pipeline for the coming year, including engagements at the University of Europe (UE) and the Higher Colleges and Technology.
