Lupin Receives China Approval for Oseltamivir Phosphate Oral Suspension
Global pharmaceutical company Lupin Limited has announced that China's National Medical Products Administration has approved its Abbreviated New Drug Application for Oseltamivir Phosphate, in collaboration with Yabao Pharmaceuticals. This approval marks Lupin's first product entry into the Chinese market, a significant milestone in the company's global expansion efforts.
Oseltamivir Phosphate for oral suspension, 6 mg/mL, is set to be launched and commercialized to improve access to treatment, especially for pediatric patients. The product aims to broaden Lupin's global presence and reflect its commitment to providing high-quality and affordable medicines to patients, including children.
The indications for Oseltamivir Phosphate for oral suspension include treatment for influenza A and B in patients aged 2 weeks and older, as well as prevention of the same diseases in individuals aged 1 year and older.
Fabrice Egros, President of Corporate Development at Lupin, expressed delight at receiving the approval, describing it as a strategic step into one of the world's largest pharmaceutical markets. He emphasized the commitment to expanding access to quality therapies, particularly in pediatric care, and looks forward to building a more substantial presence in China through their partnership with Yabao.
