'Built for the Long Term': Why U.S. Partners Believe in VinFast's Global Service Strategy
The global electric vehicle market is experiencing heightened competition, prompting automakers to focus on customer confidence, long-term ownership experiences, and after-sales support as crucial factors for success, according to the company.
In this context, VinFast is adopting a unique global strategy by emphasizing after-sales service as a competitive advantage. The company recently signed new Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with 29 after-sales partners during an international partner event attended by over 200 investors, distributors, dealers, and service partners from various regions including North America, Europe, and the Middle East. This initiative aims to enhance VinFast's global service infrastructure and improve customer support capabilities.
VinFast plans to establish a network of over 1,100 workshops worldwide by 2026, which will include dealership service centers and third-party repair partners. In the United States, the company is expanding its after-sales capabilities through partnerships like RepairWise, a digital automotive service platform that facilitates customer access to certified repair facilities. This partnership aims to improve service accessibility and reduce appointment wait times as the dealership infrastructure develops.
As the U.S. EV market faces a transitional phase with shifting consumer demand, VinFast's American partners see potential opportunities. David Pributsky, Chief Commercial Officer of RepairWise, commented on the gap in the American market for well-equipped EVs at accessible prices, noting VinFast's integrated approach as a compelling factor. Meanwhile, Anthony Rodio, CEO of RepairWise, highlighted the importance of after-sales coverage in expanding VinFast's presence in the U.S., especially given the vast geographic landscape.
VinFast's commitment to after-sales support and its collaborative approach with partners has established a foundation for long-term growth. Pributsky praised VinFast's responsiveness in overcoming operational challenges, indicating a shared commitment to building a successful partnership as the company aims to strengthen its service infrastructure in the highly competitive U.S. market.
