IntelliGenome Announces Strategic Partnership with CTR Scientific to Advance CRISPR-TB in Mexico

June 15, 2026

IntelliGenome, Inc. announced a strategic partnership with CTR Scientific (Control Técnico y Representaciones S.A. de C.V.) to support the evaluation, commercialization, and future adoption of the CRISPR-TB Blood Test in Mexico.

Under the agreement, CTR Scientific will act as IntelliGenome's exclusive distribution partner in Mexico, utilizing its extensive network and expertise to expedite the evaluation, market development, and commercialization of CRISPR-TB in the country.

This partnership underscores IntelliGenome's commitment to enhancing tuberculosis (TB) detection in Mexico through innovative molecular diagnostic technologies. The CRISPR-TB test is a novel blood-based assay that detects Mycobacterium tuberculosis cell-free DNA (cfDNA), providing a potential solution for patients who find traditional sputum-based testing challenging, including pediatric, extrapulmonary, and other vulnerable populations.

The collaboration follows recent engagements by IntelliGenome with prominent tuberculosis clinicians, researchers, and public health stakeholders in Mexico, all aimed at promoting innovative TB detection approaches.

"Mexico is a strategically important market for advancing innovative TB diagnostics," said Kurt Wehrle, Vice President of Partnerships & Strategic Alliances at IntelliGenome. He added that the partnership with CTR Scientific will help generate clinical evidence and expand access to CRISPR-TB, thus supporting efforts to improve TB detection in the country.

Alan R. Criollo Ródiz, Clinical Diagnostics Manager at CTR Scientific, emphasized the company's commitment to bringing high-value diagnostic innovations to the Mexican healthcare system. He noted that the partnership with IntelliGenome would advance CRISPR-TB, which has the potential to complement existing tuberculosis diagnostic methods and address significant diagnostic gaps.

CRISPR-TB is CE-IVDD certified and holds regulatory registrations in multiple international markets, assisting its growing adoption throughout Latin America.
