Atom Computing and Phasecraft Announce Strategic Collaboration to Accelerate Development of Next-Generation Materials
Atom Computing and Phasecraft have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at exploring the use of application-focused algorithms to benchmark progress toward utility-scale quantum computers.
The collaboration will focus on accelerating the delivery and adoption of quantum solutions in key application areas, including the development of materials for batteries and photovoltaic systems. By adapting Phasecraft's advanced algorithms and software to Atom Computing's neutral-atom quantum computing hardware, the partnership seeks to enhance practical applications in materials science and energy.
Atom Computing is recognized for its pioneering work in neutral-atom quantum technology and recently showcased significant advancements in quantum error correction using toric code. The company has also announced a $100 million Letter of Intent with the U.S. Department of Commerce, and it is currently deploying the world's first commercial quantum computer with logical qubits, participating in Stage B of DARPA's Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI).
Phasecraft specializes in developing advanced quantum algorithms to tackle real-world challenges in materials discovery, chemistry, and optimization. The company aims to make quantum computing more practical by designing software that can work with existing imperfect hardware, effectively bridging the gap between current technology and future large-scale quantum systems.
