DeepL expands into Silicon Valley, adds Mixhalo team and technology to accelerate Voice AI at scale
DeepL has announced the acquisition of the team and technology from Mixhalo, a platform known for real-time, ultra-low latency audio. This partnership aims to enhance DeepL Voice, the company's AI voice translation solution, allowing it to function effectively in larger and more complex environments.
DeepL Voice has established itself as a leader in real-time voice translation, outperforming competitors like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. The solution received a quality score of 96.4/100, with a fail rate of just 4%, compared to the market average of 17%, according to a 2026 independent Slator assessment. The integration of Mixhalo's audio infrastructure will enable clearer and instantaneous delivery of translated speech and captions to audiences ranging from smaller settings to large events.
Jarek Kutylowski, Founder and CEO of DeepL, remarked on the significance of this integration, stating, "The Mixhalo team and technology let us bring this to even larger, more complex settings." Vik Singh, Co-Founder of Mixhalo, also noted the challenges faced in real-time translation, highlighting DeepL's capabilities as a critical factor in achieving high-quality, timely translations during live communication.
DeepL and Mixhalo have already begun utilizing their combined technology, with the DeepL Voice API powering real-time translation on Mixhalo's platform. The collaboration aims to explore additional applications, such as customer support integrations like Amazon Connect.
This acquisition coincides with the opening of DeepL's first office in San Francisco, which is intended to strengthen the company's presence in the U.S., its fastest-growing market. The U.S. customer base includes notable companies such as NVIDIA, Cisco, and Nasdaq, with nearly 50% of the Fortune 500 already using DeepL's services.
DeepL is set to showcase this technology at GITEX Europe 2026, where it will serve as the official translation partner, providing live German-to-English captions. Upcoming events in the U.S. will also highlight DeepL's advancements in Voice AI capabilities.
